Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has called for a freeze in the Ukraine conflict while reaffirming his country’s strong strategic partnership with Russia. Speaking on the war, Tokayev urged Moscow to pursue peace talks, signaling a desire to halt active fighting. At the same time, he emphasized that Kazakhstan remains committed to its “allied relationship” with Russia, balancing calls for de-escalation with continued cooperation.
