A Russian attack on a village near Kryvyi Rih killed at least six people overnight Wednesday, Ukrainian officials said. Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the regional military administration, reported that a residential building was hit. The victims included two girls, aged five and 12, along with four adults. At least one other person was killed in the capital, Kyiv. Mayor Vitali Klitschko warned on Telegram that Russia is striking the city with ballistic missiles, adding that the danger of further attacks remains. Fires broke out in several districts following the strikes. Authorities fear the death toll could rise. The attack followed a warning from President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday that Russia would likely launch a new massive assault overnight. News agencies AFP and Reuters both reported explosions in Kyiv.
