Indonesia has set its sights on expanding trade with Egypt, aiming to increase a bilateral trade volume that already exceeds $1 billion annually. Ambassador to Cairo, Kuntjoro Giri Waseso, announced the goal on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, during a meeting with board members of the Aswan Chamber of Commerce. The chamber is chaired by Hossam Al-Ansari. The ambassador cited the two nations' long-standing historical relations as a foundation for deeper economic ties.
