A small plane made an emergency landing on Interstate 95 in Florida on Tuesday, striking a car but miraculously avoiding major injuries. The aircraft, a single-engine Piper Cherokee, crashed onto the northbound lanes near Pompano Beach. It collided with a Toyota Camry during the landing. The pilot and a passenger walked away unharmed. The driver of the car was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. In a recording of the 911 call, a stunned dispatcher is heard reacting to the report, saying, "A plane ... out of the sky?" The crash caused significant traffic delays. The US Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the incident.
