A massive wildfire near Bordeaux, France, has consumed more than 162 square miles (420 square kilometers) of land in less than four days. The blaze is advancing rapidly, forcing evacuations and straining firefighting resources.
Meanwhile, the Madrid region of Spain is battling its worst wildfires on record. Officials have not yet reported the total area burned there, but the scale of the destruction has alarmed authorities.
