A dangerous heatwave is expected to reach its peak in southwestern France today, with temperatures soaring to 42°C in areas already ravaged by wildfires. According to weather agency Météo-France, the inland regions of Gironde and Landes will face the extreme heat on Wednesday. Since the first wildfire broke out in Gironde a week ago, 126 firefighters have been injured. Across the rest of France, maximum temperatures will range between 35°C and 38°C over the next day, reported BFM.
