Saudi Oil Exports Face New Choke Point After Iran Blockade
Iran’s blockade of the Strait of Hormuz forced Saudi Arabia to shift much of its oil transport to a different route. Now, Houthi rebels in Yemen threaten to cut off that route as well, by blocking Saudi ships in the Bab el-Mandeb strait. Meanwhile, Gulf states are working on a plan to bypass both dangerous passages entirely.
