Senior U.S. lawmakers from both major parties have condemned the military seizure of a Venezuelan oil tanker. They warn the action risks a major conflict. On Wednesday, U.S. forces took control of the Venezuelan-flagged tanker off its coast. The Trump administration accuses Venezuela of helping drug traffickers. One Democratic lawmaker said President Donald Trump is "sleepwalking us into a war with Venezuela." At least one Republican also criticized the move. There is now growing unease in Washington over the U.S. military buildup in the Caribbean. The U.S. presence there is at its highest level in decades. The administration has also bombed boats it says were carrying drugs. Those strikes have killed more than 80 people so far.
