Venezuelan technologist Ariana Basciani warns that the internet is becoming a uniform space where homogeneous content is abundant but critical thinking is scarce.
Basciani argues that algorithms, artificial intelligence, and the power of large platforms are stripping the internet of its original meaning. Instead of fostering diverse ideas, these forces push repetitive and similar content, limiting users' exposure to different perspectives.
The result, she says, is an online environment that prioritizes engagement over genuine thought, making it harder for people to question or analyze information critically.
