The United States paused its military strikes on Iran for a second straight day Sunday, and Tehran said it had done the same. The halt comes as both sides push to resume negotiations on an interim ceasefire deal, which has been severely damaged by recent exchanges of fire.
The reason for the US pause is unclear. Washington had been targeting Iranian coastal areas and infrastructure for nearly two weeks, after Iran fired at ships trying to cross the Strait of Hormuz.
