A leading French scientist warns that a quarter of the country’s small rivers are already dry. This summer’s heat-driven drought could surpass the record levels seen in 2022, according to a hydrologist from France’s National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS). The specialist said current indicators point to worsening water shortages, threatening local ecosystems and water supplies.
