Skydiver Cut Free After Parachute Snags Plane Wing
A skydiver was forced to make a drastic emergency move when his main parachute tangled on a small plane's wing. Video of the incident shows the jumper dangling from the wing after his parachute deployed prematurely. The canopy, the main fabric of the parachute, became tightly wrapped around the aircraft's structure. To escape, the skydiver used a hook knife, a standard safety tool. He cut the lines connecting him to the tangled parachute. Once free, he deployed his reserve parachute and landed safely. The plane also returned to the airport without injury to the pilot. Authorities are investigating the cause of the premature deployment.
