Journalist Detained for Quoting Colleague’s Pre-Arrest Post

A journalist in Turkey has been taken into custody after sharing a social media post made by a colleague just before his own arrest. Ali Taş, a local reporter based in Antalya, was detained for quoting a message from Alican Uludağ. In the post, Uludağ wrote: “If you are coming for me, let me know so I don’t lose sleep for nothing.” The official reason for Taş’s detention has not yet been announced.
