Bulgaria's Prime Minister Rossen Jeliazkov resigned on Thursday. His government was less than a year old.
The resignation came ahead of a planned no-confidence vote in parliament. It also followed weeks of large anti-corruption protests across the country.
Tens of thousands of demonstrators have been demanding change. They accuse the government of failing to fight corruption effectively.
Jeliazkov's administration now steps down before parliament could formally vote it out of power.
