Middle East Crisis Forces Pakistan, Bangladesh to Buy Costliest LNG in Years

Pakistan and Bangladesh have been forced to purchase some of their most expensive liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments in years. The reason is the widening conflict in the Middle East, which is choking global supply. The price spike is straining government finances in both countries. It has also prompted them to rethink their heavy reliance on the super-chilled fuel. LNG is natural gas cooled into a liquid form for easy transport by ship.
