Two American soldiers killed in a drone attack on a Jordanian air base have been identified as the first U.S. military deaths since Iran broke a peace agreement with the Trump administration.
The soldiers died at Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, a facility in northeastern Jordan near the Syrian border. Their names have not yet been publicly released.
Former President Donald Trump responded by stating that Iran will pay "many times over" for the attack.
The incident marks a significant escalation in regional tensions, as the victims are the first U.S. service members killed in action since Iran violated the terms of a prior peace deal.
