A US service member died Sunday during a "controlled detonation" of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian drone in northern Iraq, the military confirmed.
The incident came just two days after two US troops were killed in Jordan late Friday.
In a related development, Jordan summoned Iran’s top diplomat in Amman on Sunday to formally protest Tehran’s attacks on its territory. The attacks targeted US allies in the region as retaliation for recent American strikes across Iran.
