The UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) has issued a stark warning about conditions in Gaza. It says winter weather will severely worsen the crisis for displaced families.
These families are already living in overcrowded shelters. Many areas are flooded and unsanitary. The coming cold and rain will increase health risks.
UNRWA states that only a major increase in humanitarian aid can prevent more suffering. It calls for an "unrestricted aid flow" into Gaza. This aid would include proper shelter materials, warm clothes, blankets, and fuel.
The agency says such supplies are urgently needed to help people face winter safely.
