Zimbabwean music legend Nicholas Zakaria has died. He was 66.
Known affectionately as "Madzibaba," Zakaria was a giant of Sungura music. This popular guitar-based genre is often called Zimbabwe's "people's music."
Zakaria helped shape the sound for decades. His band, the Khiama Boys, produced hits that made him a household name across the country.
Fans and fellow musicians are mourning his passing. They remember him as a gifted guitarist and a foundational figure in Zimbabwe's cultural history.
