Land Rights Key to Food Security, Says Minister

Indonesia’s Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning Minister, Nusron Wahid, who also heads the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), stated that legal certainty over land rights is essential for ensuring food security. Without clear ownership and legal protection for land, farmers and investors cannot plan long-term agricultural production. The minister emphasized that secure land titles help prevent disputes and encourage investment in farming, which is critical for stable food supplies.
