Opposition Leader Urges Supreme Court to Reverse ‘Historic Mistake’

Opposition leader Özgür Özel has called on Turkey’s Supreme Court of Appeals to reverse what he described as a “historic mistake.” Speaking in Kırıkkale, Özel criticized the Court of Appeals for delaying the case file for 57 days before sending it to the Supreme Court, just three days before the judicial recess. “On Monday, our eyes and ears will be on the Supreme Court,” Özel said, referring to the upcoming decision on the absolute nullity ruling. He urged the high court to correct the lower court’s error.
