Turkey is holding nationwide events to mark the 10th anniversary of the July 15 failed coup attempt. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who also leads the ruling AK Party, has published an article titled "July 15: The Declaration of Independence for Turkey's Century." The commemoration includes ceremonies and activities across the country to remember the 2016 uprising, in which thousands of civilians took to the streets to oppose the coup.
