A delegation from Turkey's pro-Kurdish opposition held a meeting with a senior ruling party official on Wednesday night, but the Speaker of Parliament did not attend as previously expected.
The meeting took place between the "İmralı delegation"—representatives Pervin Buldan and Sırrı Süreyya Önder—and Efkan Ala, the deputy chairman of the ruling AK Party. The talks were intended to brief the delegation on the AKP’s draft "Framework Law."
However, Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, who was reportedly expected to join the discussion, was absent. According to reports, Buldan and Önder only discussed "current agenda items" with Ala during the meeting.
