More than 2,000 Ebola cases have been recorded in the Democratic Republic of Congo, including 754 deaths. The World Health Organization warns the outbreak may be two to four times larger than official figures suggest.
In response, the United States has ordered its citizens in the DRC to spend 21 days outside the country before returning home. The measure aims to prevent the spread of the virus across borders. Anyone leaving the DRC must wait the full incubation period of the disease in a third country.
