Russia Pulls Elite Drone Unit From Frontline to Guard Oil Tankers

A Ukrainian partisan network claims Moscow is redeploying its best drone unit, Rubicon, from the front lines to protect its oil tankers at sea. Rubicon built its reputation by hunting Ukrainian supply lines near Pokrovsk in eastern Ukraine. Now, the group says the unit is being sent to guard the "shadow fleet" of tankers that Russia uses to evade Western sanctions. Over the past ten days, Ukraine has reportedly struck 147 of these shadow-fleet ships, forcing Moscow to shift its military priorities. The move suggests the attacks are severely disrupting Russia’s oil exports.
