Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has issued a direct warning to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). He stated there cannot be two armed groups operating within Syria. Fidan spoke at a conference titled "Syria One Year Later: Recovery and Reconstruction." The event was held by the SETA foundation in Ankara. He emphasized Turkey's position on Syrian stability. "It is not possible for us, as Turkey, to tolerate Syria becoming an area of chaos again," Fidan said. His core message targeted the SDF, a Kurdish-led militia. Fidan demanded the group understand that "there cannot be two armed elements" in any country. Turkey views the SDF as an extension of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), a group it designates as terrorists. This warning underscores Turkey's ongoing security concerns along its Syrian border.
