Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said Russia could stage a false-flag drone attack to create a reason for striking a NATO member.
“They play these kinds of games. We have to be prepared for it,” Sikorski told reporters.
The warning comes as tensions between Russia and the Western military alliance remain high. A false-flag operation is an attack made to look like it was carried out by an enemy, when in fact it was staged by the accuser.
Sikorski did not provide specific evidence for the claim but urged NATO allies to stay alert. Poland, a NATO member, shares a border with Ukraine and has been a key supporter of Kyiv since Russia’s full-scale invasion in 2022.
