The leader of Turkey’s Saadet Party, Mahmut Arıkan, visited Selahattin Demirtaş at Edirne Prison on Thursday.
Arıkan described Demirtaş as an important figure in Turkish politics. He stated that Demirtaş could contribute to social reconciliation within a democratic and legitimate political framework.
Demirtaş, the former co-chair of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP), has been imprisoned since 2016. His case remains a major topic in Turkish political debates.
