UN Peacekeepers in Lebanon Targeted by Israeli Gunfire

No injuries were reported among the UN personnel. The mission stated the firing was "unacceptable" and endangered the lives of its staff. The event occurred amid daily exchanges of fire between the Israeli military and the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah. This border conflict has escalated since the start of the Israel-Hamas war. UNIFIL patrols the area as a buffer between the two sides. The mission says it is in contact with Israeli authorities about the serious violation.
