İstanbul’s detained mayor, Ekrem İmamoğlu, has commented on the recent release of several co-defendants in the case against the İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality. In a statement, İmamoğlu said the court’s decision to free the individuals made him happy. The releases occurred yesterday in what is being called the “İBB case.” İmamoğlu remains in custody.
