Authorities in Hong Kong are investigating a suspected fuel leak from a cargo plane at the city’s airport. The incident prompted an emergency response from police and firefighters on Thursday morning.
According to a source, the airport’s control centre alerted police to a fuel leak from a Boeing 747 cargo aircraft operating flight CV531 at around 8:32 am. The leak was later confirmed to be coming from the aircraft’s left wing.
The plane was parked outside the Cathay Pacific Cargo Terminal at the time of the alert. No injuries have been reported, and the cause of the suspected leak remains under investigation.
