The Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC) raised the security threat level in the Strait of Hormuz to “high” on Tuesday. The center cited concerns over the risk of mines in the waterway. The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow passage in the Middle East that is critical for global oil shipments.
