Three journalists were detained in Turkey ahead of the NATO summit, prompting strong reactions from press freedom organizations. The Turkish Journalists’ Association (TGC), the Press-İş union, and Reporters Without Borders (RSF) Turkey representative Erol Önderoğlu condemned the arrests. They called for the immediate release of journalists Abbas Vural, Buse Söğütlü, and Ceren Erdoğdu, who were taken into custody during police operations. The groups said the detentions violate press freedom and urged authorities to respect the rule of law.
