A poet performing at the funeral of Iran’s late supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, called for the death of US President Donald Trump on Sunday in Tehran. The remark, made before a crowd of hundreds of thousands, was the first direct call for Trump’s killing by an emcee at the event.
The funeral has also featured posters and graffiti demanding the deaths of Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The hardline rhetoric comes even as Tehran negotiates with Washington over a potential nuclear deal.
