It has been 1,000 days since a Hamas-led attack on Israel sparked the current war in Gaza. Since then, other conflicts have emerged across the region, and fragile ceasefires show the scars of continued attacks. Both Israelis and Palestinians are exhausted by the strain.
For more than 2 million Palestinians in Gaza, the future is highly uncertain. Most are displaced and living among ruins. Under a ceasefire that took effect on October 10, Israeli forces control over half of the territory. Yet Israel’s government has expanded its military operations, leaving residents with little hope for a quick resolution.
