ANKARA – A family of four in Ankara now needs 35,758 Turkish Lira per month to meet basic food needs, according to the Turkish Confederation of Trade Unions (TÜRK-İŞ). This figure, known as the hunger line, is 7,683 lira above the current minimum wage. The gap highlights the growing difficulty for low-income households to afford essential nutrition.
