A secret briefing for top U.S. lawmakers about a deadly military operation has sparked new questions.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Secretary of State Marco Rubio led the briefing on Tuesday. They met with the leaders of the House and Senate Intelligence Committees.
The topic was a September 2nd incident. On that date, U.S. forces struck a boat in the Caribbean suspected of drug trafficking.
However, Senator Mark Warner, a key Democrat, says he and other "Gang of Eight" members did not see the video of the strikes. The "Gang of Eight" is a group of senior lawmakers who receive the nation's most sensitive intelligence briefings.
The briefing was given only to committee chairs and the top minority members. Warner is the chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee.
The lack of video evidence for all members raises concerns about transparency. The incident remains under investigation.
