Kathryn Garcia is expected to be named the new leader of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
Garcia is a former New York City Sanitation Commissioner. She later ran for Mayor of New York in 2021.
If selected, she will replace Rick Cotton. Cotton is retiring from the role.
The Port Authority runs major regional infrastructure. This includes airports, bridges, tunnels, and the busiest bus terminal in America.
