A new report from Turkey’s DİSK-AR research center reveals that the country’s minimum wage no longer covers basic food needs. The study, titled “Working Class Livelihood Crisis Report,” finds that minimum-wage workers struggle to afford essential groceries. It also shows that workers spend roughly three months of the year earning money only to pay taxes and deductions. Meanwhile, two out of every three retirees are either working or actively looking for a job, highlighting the inadequacy of pension payments.
