Chinese AI companies are set to receive shipments of Nvidia's advanced H200 processor, after a U.S. government approval.
Analysts state developers will welcome the chips, which are used for building artificial intelligence systems. This comes despite China's ongoing push for technological self-reliance.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced the decision on his Truth Social platform. He said he informed Chinese President Xi Jinping, with conditions to maintain "strong national security."
The H200 chips will be shipped only to approved customers in mainland China.
