Donald Trump has threatened to impose a 100% import tariff on any European country that taxes digital services from US companies. The US president made the statement on Truth Social on Friday, saying that “numerous European countries” were discussing such a tax and that “some of these countries are close to actually doing this”. The levy would take effect immediately, he said, and would override existing trade agreements with those nations.
