The White House released new images of a special “patriot passport” on Friday, featuring a watermark of Donald Trump’s portrait. The design marks America’s 250th anniversary.
On Truth Social, the president called it “The U.S.A.’s New Passport, which says, ‘Welcome, but be good!’”
Democrats criticized the move, saying the commemorative passport and a gold coin with Trump’s image are “more befitting a monarchy.”
The effort is the latest step in Trump’s push to brand the US government with his name and image.
