Soldiers have taken control of security in the hard-hit Venezuelan state of La Guaira after a major earthquake. More than 70,000 families are affected by the disaster.
The military deployment aims to maintain order and prevent looting in the region. On Friday afternoon, the ground shook again along Venezuela's northern coast, as a strong aftershock rattled the area.
Authorities are now assessing further damage from the second tremor.
