Red weather warnings for extreme heat have been issued across more than a dozen European countries for the next 24 hours. Large parts of France, Germany, and Croatia are among the affected areas, according to Meteoalarm, which collects data from European meteorological institutes.
A massive heat wave is currently sweeping the continent. On Friday, 150 million Europeans may experience temperatures above 35 degrees Celsius, reports AFP. Several deaths in France and Spain have already been linked to the heat.
The warning for Paris states that everyone is at risk, even people in good health. In the tourist destination of Croatia, authorities urge residents and visitors to protect themselves, children, and the elderly.
