An independent United Nations inquiry has concluded that Israel is deliberately targeting children in Gaza, a strategy that undermines the ability of the Palestinian people to survive as a group.
The report, released by the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry, examined violations against Palestinian children since the start of the war in Gaza. It found that approximately 30% of all people killed by Israeli forces in the conflict have been children.
The commission’s findings suggest that by focusing on children, Israel is eroding the future capacity of the Palestinian population. The inquiry described this as an act of genocide.
