Russia is considering importing fuel and providing subsidies to cap prices, as Ukrainian drone strikes on oil refineries cause supply disruptions. The plan aims to ease shortages of petrol and diesel, the Vedomosti daily reported on Tuesday, citing two unnamed sources.
Several regions across Russia, the world’s third-largest crude oil producer, have reported restrictions on fuel sales, rising prices, and long queues at filling stations. The shortages follow repeated Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil infrastructure.
