After a series of frequent Ukrainian drone attacks, questions are rising about whether Russian President Vladimir Putin will change his military tactics.
The drone strikes have hit deeper into Russian territory, challenging Moscow's previous assumptions about the safety of its rear areas. According to BBC Russia Editor Steve Rosenberg, these attacks are forcing the Kremlin to reconsider its next steps.
Russia now faces a difficult choice. It can either strengthen its air defenses to protect key infrastructure and military sites, or it can launch more aggressive strikes inside Ukraine to retaliate. Both options carry significant risks and costs.
The drone campaign has also exposed vulnerabilities in Russia's large but aging air defense network. While Moscow has successfully shot down many drones, some have still reached their targets, causing damage and public unease.
For now, the Kremlin has not announced any major tactical shift. But as the drone attacks continue, the pressure on Putin to respond grows. The war, once fought mostly on Ukrainian soil, is increasingly coming home to Russia.
