SK Hynix ETF Hits $17 Billion, Becomes Hong Kong’s Biggest Fund

A high-risk investment product linked to South Korean chipmaker SK Hynix has become the largest exchange-traded fund (ETF) in Hong Kong. The fund, managed by CSOP Asset Management Ltd., now holds $17 billion in assets. It surpassed the Tracker Fund of Hong Kong, a long-standing market benchmark. This growth shows strong investor demand for risky bets on the booming semiconductor industry. ETFs are funds that trade like stocks. The SK Hynix product is a “leveraged” ETF, meaning it uses borrowed money to amplify gains—and losses.
