A delegation from Syria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs visited the Syrian embassy in Tripoli on Wednesday to inspect the building and prepare for its official reopening. The team was led by Mohamed al-Omar, director of the consular administration.
The visit marks a step toward restoring full diplomatic operations in Libya. Syria has not had a functioning embassy in Tripoli since the outbreak of the Libyan civil war in 2011. The move signals a gradual normalization of ties between the two countries.
