President Donald Trump announced on Monday that the United States will allow the sale of certain Nvidia artificial intelligence (AI) chips to China. The agreement, however, has key restrictions. It does not include Nvidia’s most advanced AI processors. These are the new Blackwell series and the forthcoming Rubin chips. These top-tier products will remain available only to customers within the United States. The decision clarifies which high-performance computing technology American companies can sell to the Chinese market. AI chips are critical hardware for developing and running advanced artificial intelligence systems. The U.S. government has previously expressed concerns that such technology could strengthen China's military capabilities.
